Chain Rule

Direct Proportion – Two quantities are directly proportional if on increase (or decrease) of the one, the other increases (or decreases) to the same extent.

e.g. Cost is directly proportional to number of articles. More the number of articles, more is the cost.

Indirect Proportion – Two quantities are said to be indirectly proportional, if on increase of one the other decreases and vice versa.

e.g. Time taken by a vehicle top cover a distance is inversely proportional to speed. More the speed, less is the time taken by the vehicle to cover the distance.
